day so it was very easy to relax and connect with nature. After receiving inspiration, we went back into the art room
and were given a basic lesson in watercolor painting. Sister Carlita assured us that everyone was capable of being
creative when we were centered on the Spirit which was inside each of us and all of nature. She was definitely on
the “same page” with us when it came to that type of thinking! We then had another meditation with guided
imagery before we started our painting. Everyone produced truly beautiful and inspirational “works of art”. A
special closeness was shared by all throughout the day and we ended our time together enjoying the beautiful
grounds, labyrinth and gardens of the Mercy Center feeling refreshed and renewed. A spring of 2009 retreat is
already being planned for Unity Village.
Our next gathering will be held on Sunday, September 14th and it will be at the Missouri Botanical Garden for
lunch and a walk through the garden. We will meet in the foyer after service where we can decide on car-pooling or
caravanning. Everyone is welcome to join us, yes, that means the men are invited also!

The Toastmasters Program was designed to help you conquer your fear, gain
confidence and improve speaking, listening and leadership skills. Through a
mutually supportive and positive environment, members have the opportunity to
foster self-confidence and personal growth. Members learn and practice
organization, persuasiveness and thinking on their feet.
Our club here at Unity Christ Church, Voices in Unity, offers these opportunities
in a fun and nurturing environment. Our regular meetings are usually held on
the second and fourth Sundays of the month (please note change due to Easter).
We meet in the Fellowship Room. Visitors are always welcome. For additional
information, please visit the website at www.tmarea19.org/club1291.htm

The Goddess Grapevine, September 2008
Greetings Ladies and welcome to the Goddess Grapevine! Our women’s group here
at Unity Christ Church, better known as the Goddesses have spent most of this year
focusing on building a more positive, spiritual connectivity between ourselves and
sharing our visions for Unity Christ Church. However, in August we did not have a
regular gathering. Instead we attended a mini women’s retreat at the Mercy Center
that was attended by women from five different Unity churches. Our group was
lead by Sister Carlita in a workshop entitled, Spiritual Watercolor Painting
Meditation. We prepared by participating in an opening meditation held in a
beautiful, garden courtyard. Of course the weather was in perfect cooperation that
